Schedule Anger Mangement (coming soon)
Anger itself is not the problem. Anger is a normal human emotion. Difficulties often arise when anger begins affecting decision-making, communication, relationships, work, or legal situations.
Anger management educaiton focuses on understanding your anger, increasing self-awareness, and developnig healthier ways of responding to difficult situations.
What Is Anger?
Anger is a normal human emotion that serves an important purpose. Participants explore the emotional, physical, and cognitive aspects of anger, learn to recognize early warning signs, and develop greater awareness of how anger affects thoughts, behaviors, relationships, and decision-making.
What Are Triggers?
Anger is often influenced by situations, beliefs, expectations, stressors, and past experiences. Participants identify personal triggers and learn how different interpretations of events can contribute to emotional reactions.
Cognitive Processing
Thoughts influence emotions and behavior. Participants learn to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, cognitive distortions, and automatic thoughts that may contribute to anger while developing more balanced and effective ways of interpreting situations.
Communication Skills
Many conflicts escalate because of ineffective communication. Participants learn assertive communication skills, active listening, and strategies for expressing needs and concerns in ways that promote understanding rather than conflict.
Coping Skills
Participants develop practical tools for managing stress, frustration, and emotional intensity. Skills may include emotional regulation techniques, stress management strategies, relaxation skills, and healthy outlets for difficult emotions.
Conflict Resolution
Disagreements are a normal part of life. Participants learn approaches for addressing conflict constructively, improving problem-solving skills, and reducing patterns of escalation in personal and professional relationships.
Repairing Relationships
Anger can sometimes damage trust and create distance in relationships. Participants explore accountability, effective apologies, forgiveness, rebuilding trust, and strategies for repairing relationships when appropriate.
Building Lasting Change
Participants develop individualized plans for recognizing warning signs, managing future challenges, and maintaining the skills learned throughout the program.
Anger Management Education is designed to be an active learning experience conducted within a supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental environment. Participants are encouraged to openly discuss challenges, triggers, frustrations, and goals without fear of criticism or shame.
Research consistently shows that skill development is most effective when participants have opportunities to discuss, practice, and apply what they are learning. Participants are encouraged to engage in discussion, examine real-life situations, explore personal triggers, and identify strategies that may be helpful in their own lives.
When appropriate and if participants are comfortable, role-playing exercises may be used to practice communication skills, conflict resolution, assertiveness, emotional regulation, and other skills discussed throughout the program.
The focus is on helping participants move beyond understanding concepts to confidently applying them in everyday situations while continuing to build emotional awareness, resilience, and healthier ways of responding to life's challenges.
Parenting Education and Anger Management Education are currently offered through telehealth. Participants will receive a secure meeting link by email, text message, or both, depending on their communication preferences.
Additional program information, schedules, and availability will be provided during registration.
This program is provided as an educational service rather than mental health counseling. Because these services are educational in nature, they are not typically covered by health insurance and are offered on a self-pay basis.
The initial six-session program fee is $240 and is due prior to the start of services. This initial commitment allows participants sufficient time to learn concepts, practice new skills, and begin applying those skills in everyday situations.
Participants who wish to continue beyond the initial six-session program may do so at a rate of $40 per additional session.
Please note that participation in educational services does not establish a counseling relationship and should not be considered a substitute for mental health treatment when treatment is clinically indicated.
